Garbage Collection Schedule

 

   Collection Days:

       Tuesday:         Main Street from Path End, Black Duck Cove, through to Winterland Road.

     Wednesday:   Bulls Cove & Port au Bras

   Thursday:     Main Street (from Path End) through to Collins Cove, Burin Bay area.

 

Collection of bulk refuse such as appliances, including washers, dryers, hot water tanks (white metal items) shall be by special collection only on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday's of every month.

Garbage & Refuse Rules

The Town of Burin requests that you follow these regulations in preparing your garbage and refuse for collection.

  • All stacks of paper, cardboard or piles of wood must be placed in a disposal container or tied tightly in

    bundles.  The bundles must not be more than 5 feet long or weigh more than 50 lbs.
  • Garbage and refuse shall be placed in proper polyethylene garbage bags: please avoid using grocery

    bags and kitchen catchers for placement for collection.
  • Properly prepared bags, disposal containers or bundles shall be placed for

    collection in front of the premises at the street line no earlier than 6:00 a.m. and no later than 8:00 a.m. on the day designated for collection

Please Note*

Car Wrecks, Car Parts, Scrap Metal, Concrete, Brick, Earthen Materials (ie: grass & trees) Housing Repair Materials, Propane Cylinders, Tires, Waste Oils and such are not collected.

You are responsible for removing all such debris and properly disposing of the material, OR you may contact the Town's Contractor, Bugden's Trucking & Excavating, to remove your debris for a monetary fee at 277-2167.

Illegal Dumping: Unauthorized dumping of garbage, refuse, bulk items, car wrecks, yard debris or construction materials on public or private property is illegal and can bring strict penalties.
